| In scorching hot weather conditions it is difficult to concentrate on work and live. Hence, the air conditioning has become a basic necessity there rather than a luxury thing. It was developed by Stuart Cramer, but the word was suggested by W. Carrier. The scientific breakthrough helps people in many ways. For example, when the air cooler was first developed and installed in a Houston theatre, the number of people who visited the theatre quickly increased. The air conditioning system decreases the level of air humidity and maintains its quality. There are ACs intended to dry the air without cooling it. The main constituents of the AC are a condenser, an evaporator and a compressor. It also uses a chemical to convert liquid to gas and vice versa. Air conditioning systems come in two kinds: a split and a package system. In the split system, the condenser and the compressor are set outside the room and the evaporator is placed inside the room. The evaporator is used for circulating the air around the room. In the package system, all components are set outside the room. There are small, mid-sized and large ACs. The most popular air conditioner is the window air conditioner which is set on a window and intended for cooling a particular room. If several rooms are to be cooled, select a split or a mini-split air conditioning, depending on how many rooms you want to cool. The most widely used ones are portable air conditioning systems which you can move around. For cooling the whole house you should deploy central air conditioners. The only downside of the air conditioner is monthly electricity bills that can adversely affect one's budget. Still, below are a few useful tips that help you reduce the total amount of electricity consumed by your AC and, consequently, electricity bills: • Do not install the air conditioner where the Sun faces it directly. This makes the AC consume more power for cooling your room. • Do not use a big air conditioner in a small-sized room. • When the air conditioning system is on, keep doors and windows closed. Therefore, proper installation and deployment of the AC will save power. |
