| Emo boys and gals have always demonstrate their uniqueness, their dress and accessories being the most significant feature for standing out in the crowd. Stressing their difference from society, emo individuals avoid conformism. Here are a few basic tips on how to get emo look. However, one should not forget that dressing emo just because it helps you look cool is wrong. Apparel should be a reflection of your uniqueness. A real emo can be unmistakenly be recoznized by the Emo hairstyle, which features straight dyed hair (usually black, but it can also be white, brown, purple etc.) frequently combined with vivid colours (vibrant pink, green, blue or red), a long fringe brushed to one side of the face or over one or both eyes. Bob-cuts, layers and hair short in the back and long in the front are very emo too. The most important thing is to create an expressive hairdo. Super girlish hair pins, bandannas, ribbons add to emo look as well. Black horn-rimmed eyeware, normally very thick, are also a distinctive feature of emo style. Emo gals, however, can be more flexible with colors and go for darker shades of red, brown or blue. Emo fashion is all about skin tight clothes. Emo clothing is often characterised by tight emo jeans (drainpipes or skinnies) on boys and girls alike. Jeans are worn with a double belt. One belt is normally of common type and the other one is adorned with clinchers and iron strips. Studs on the belts and large belt buckles are also popular. Dresses and skirts can be worn by gals if properly matched with converses and leg warmers. Extra narrow emo t-shirts often have the name of music bands or popular emo symbols such as the broken heart, stars and the skull. Vintage or vintage-looking shirts with icons of cartoon heroes or rock musicians are also very popular. The key here is originality, or at least the illusion of it. Again, the t-shirt or a sweater should be very narrow, up to 2 sizes smaller. For looking emo, black eyeliner and other dark make-up are important. Remember, there is never too little black eyeliner, shades, and black mascara. A little brightly colored eye liner can also be applied in combination with the black eyeliner. Emo shoes complete the emo image complete. The best known emo shoes are Converses or Vans. But many other shoes, as long as they are black with brightly coloured laces, can also be made look emo. The most very common design is tennis footwear of conversion or vanguard style. To look more emo, shoes can be decorated with white-out pen/highlighter/permanent marker. Pursuing the emo look, make sure you are not pretending to be a person you are not. It can be insulting for true emo people. |
