| Ronald William "Ron" Howard is an American movie director as well as a famous actor of the 1970s. Howard first became renowned as an actor starring in the 1960s and 1970s movies. Since he gave up acting, he has directed plenty of films, including the blockbuster The Da Vinci Code, and its sequel, Angels & Demons. The movie is grounded on the book written by Dan Brown, the author of The Da Vinci Code that made the humanity split into two groups: those who are for it and those who are against it, inclusive of the Catholic Church. Even though The Da Vinci Code was forbidden in plenty of countries, a lot of viewers worldwide have viewed the film. Angels & Demons re-starts to display the immortal rivalry between the Catholic Church and science showed in The Da Vinci Code. The plot of the movie Angels & Demons gives prominence the quest of Harvard University religious iconologist Robert Langdon to uncover the enigmas of a powerful underground society called the Illuminati. The Catholic Church, especially the Vatican, faces a threat when the chief four cardinals to substitute the recently deceased Pope are abducted by members of the Illuminati devoted to scientific truth. The Church is promised that each cardinal will be killed one per hour starting at 8 pm, culminating with an explosion of an antimatter bomb underneath St Peter's Cathedral at midnight ruining the Vatican. To face down this terrifying jeopady, the Church calls upon the services of historian and iconologist Robert Langdon played by Tom Hanks who is knowledgeable about the Illuminati. He has to start the investigation promptly, hasting to find the abducted cardinals by decoding symbols. Robert Langton accompanied by physicist Vittoria tries to reveal the death of the Pontiff. The images of Rome in the film are glorious and picturesque. The viewer has an opportunity to walk around Rome and see the most prominent architectural and cultural places of interest together with the film characters. The film does well to engage interest through its explanations of historical events and the inside organisation of the Vatican. The plot keeps the watcher engaged and interested up to the end of the film. The plot unfolds with extraordinary twists and turns that leave the watcher thrilled. |
