The Percherska Lavra, a short trolley ride from city center, has two 11th-century cathedrals on its territory, along with its well-known catacombs, a bell tower, and museum collections. Near downtown you can see the Golden Gate which dates back to 1037. Theater lovers will find much to choose from here. Most plays are staged in Russian and Ukrainian.
