| Younger brother of the great king of Tuscan wines, the mighty Brunello, this full-bodied red is now drinking beautifully. From a classic Brunello producer and a great vintage. Tasting Notes: Ruby red with garnet hints; velvety, smooth, dry taste. Matching: Game, grilled red meat and mature cheeses. Winemaking Notes: The making of this excellent wine starts from the constant pruning of the vines, which guarantees a high quality product even in less favourable years. The grapes are carefully selected by hand during the harvest. The winemaking happens at controlled temperatures. Rosso di Montalcino has a maturing process of 18 months rather than the 4-year minimum of Brunello. When bottled, the wine is further refined for a few months prior to release. http://amordivino.co.uk/wines/677/2006_Rosso_di_Montalcino_DOC.html |
